Who We Are
Below the Surface Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit committed to reforming lives through the gospel, biblical education, and practical reentry support. We meet people where they are — behind the walls or rebuilding on the outside — and walk with them toward a new beginning.
Our Values
Our values are built on faith, truth, discipline, brotherhood, leadership, repentance, justice, family restoration, community service, and unwavering commitment to living according to Scripture. We strive to develop leaders who serve with integrity, strengthen families, uplift communities, and remain steadfast in their convictions.
Our Story
Behind prison walls are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters—people whose lives are often defined by the worst mistake they have ever made. Many feel abandoned, forgotten, and without hope.
At Below the Surface Ministries, we believe there is more to every person than what appears on the surface.
We recognize that incarceration does not erase a person's value, purpose, or God-given potential. Throughout history, faithful men and women have endured imprisonment, hardship, and rejection, yet their lives still carried meaning and purpose. In that same spirit, we believe that transformation is possible for those who are willing to embrace truth, accountability, and repentance.

Our mission is to walk alongside incarcerated and formerly incarcerated men and women through biblical education, life-skills training, leadership development, and reentry support. We strive to help individuals rebuild their lives, restore their families, strengthen their character, and become positive influences within their communities.
Real change begins beneath the surface. It begins in the heart, is strengthened through righteous repentance, and is sustained through knowledge, discipline, and purpose.
